A lonely little columbine

Posted by
Marion (Nanaimo, BC, Canada) on 21 May 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I found this behind my neighbour's house. It is very apparent that once upon a time that the people that used to live there had many beautiful things planted on the hill side that has just been allowed to go to seed along with the blackberry bushes. I see that there are some iris planted there as well. They have yet to bloom.

So beautiful Marion, the dof and colour are wonderful. We used to have these in our front garden, but they were dug up when we had the drive extended and didn't survive :( which is sad as they seemed to spring up in all sorts of places around the garden.

Marion!! Absolutely beautiful shot!! I LOVE it!!
As to why my country of origin keeps changing?? Don't know. I've put in a "call" to the Am3 team to see if they know what's what.
Weird... I can't believe the market is soft on the island, too. Typical, eh? It always seems the other guy is lucky enough to sell when the market's hot. LOL!!

Oh, aren't they little darlings these columbines?! I like them so much!!!! Tiny and delicate, but with such an intricate shape! I like it that you captured one in full bloom and the others just in bud! They keep good company and give balance to the shot!
