Stunning work, Marion ... the clarity and color in the eye are astounding! The eye looks like a picture unto itself ... life a scene from the painted desert - blue sky and burnt umber sands. I'm mesmerized by this image, Marion!

@Anthony: I am using Picasa2 to do it. It is a little limiting, but I thought it fun. Have to invest in Photoshop so I can do both eyes :D. thanks Anthony. Cats do rule!!

simply amazing work Marion, for someone who claims to have little selective color experience, this is phenomenal!! I hope you don't mind my saying either, but this is a much sharper and detailed selective color compared to your image yesterday, so well done!

@Jrask: Thanks Josh for your very kind comment. I don't mind you saying that this one was sharper than yesterday's. I used my macro lens to photograph Cleo and just my carry round lens for the flowers and probably snapped it in a hurry.

Great portrait, Marion... Wow... this eye ! good processing... But you forgot the second eye... Even if we see only a single eye, I miss the color on the second eye... I have a bad impression, as if Cleo was blind in one eye.

@Francesc B.: I didn't do this in Photoshop, but used another program that only gives you the option of one spot to color. I know what you are saying but I assure you Cleo is not blind in her other eye. I probably should have cropped it in closer so that you could only see the one eye!!

@Gary: Thanks Gary. Special processing in that I turned everything black and white except her eye and that is the exact color of Cleo's eye. She has incredibly beautiful eyes.

Beautiful eye. I would like to see both of them in color, so I hope you will invest in photoshop as you said to Anthony.
By the way you could also consider Paint-Shop-Pro who is very powerful and much less expensive or The Gimp who is also very powerful and TOTALY FREE (but a bit complex in the learning phase). For your info I use Paint-Shop-Pro and of course Canon DPP for the RAW processing.

@Stéphane: Thanks Stephanie, I do have Paint Shop Pro and use it all the time. I love it. These last two pictures were my first attempt and I am just going to have to learn a little more. and have been getting many helpful hints from other bloggers which I really appreciate
