A spot of color

This is posted with a big thanks to Lorraine. She will know why. This is my first attempt at leaving a bit of color in a picture. I really don't seem to have many that lend themselves to this process. I hope you like it.

Your style of adding the feature color to the border makes this much more effective. Cone flowers seem to be the rage right now.

Oh Wow, I'm touched, this is so well done Marion, your artistic instinct remains plus you've picked a perfect spot for it ;) Truthfully you look like you're the one who's been doing it for years ;)

@Lorraine: Well thank you again, it was pretty easy, although I had to figure out how to save the finished picture to my other photo editing program, but I did and I really like the result. See, we do inspire one another.

I think you did really well using the process, however, I think I would have liked this one better either all in color or all in black and white. My eye has trouble traveling through the frame as it gets "stuck" on the color. Love the composition, detail, and clarity. It is a lovely picture.

@Tracey: Tracey, thank you for your lovely comment and I am sorry that your eye got "stuck". But the whole point of a focal B&W picture is that the majority of the picture is in B&W and there is one focal point in the original color that is supposed to draw the eye to it. Perhaps one day I will post this picture just in black and white for you. Again thanks.
