A spot of colorPosted by Marion (Nanaimo, BC, Canada) on 12 August 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. This is posted with a big thanks to Lorraine. She will know why. This is my first attempt at leaving a bit of color in a picture. I really don't seem to have many that lend themselves to this process. I hope you like it.

Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomYour style of adding the feature color to the border makes this much more effective. Cone flowers seem to be the rage right now. 12 Aug 2008 9:43am @Ronnie 2¢: Thanks so much Ronnie. I guess we all develope our own style eventually. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanI like the effect, it has more impact! Good idea! 12 Aug 2008 10:42am @Japanalia: Thanks Gabriela. I always enjoy your visits. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaOh Wow, I'm touched, this is so well done Marion, your artistic instinct remains plus you've picked a perfect spot for it ;) Truthfully you look like you're the one who's been doing it for years ;) 12 Aug 2008 12:10pm @Lorraine: Well thank you again, it was pretty easy, although I had to figure out how to save the finished picture to my other photo editing program, but I did and I really like the result. See, we do inspire one another. Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesWow......I'm impressed. This is a great effect, Marion; you did WELL! 12 Aug 2008 12:11pm @Judy: Thanks Judy. I did it on Picasa2. Tomorrow's is even better, I think. MJ from Delaware, United StatesI am impressed... I like it, even if I can't find the time to even try it.... it does add a new deminsion to photos 12 Aug 2008 12:32pm @MJ: It's easy and it's fun. @Anthony: Thank you Anthony, and not even a trace of pink in it. ;D Chris from South Jersey, United StatesReally well done - the processing adds a nice touch to a well composed photograph. Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomDo we like it....? It's a superb piece of work Marion..... and... who likes B&W then ;) 12 Aug 2008 4:43pm @Observing: Oh Mike, thanks so much. You don't have much option to play with the black and white in this program, just the color spot. I am so glad that YOU liked it. Ina from Krugersdorp, South AfricaNice shot! LIke the selective coloring, well done! 12 Aug 2008 4:50pm Gary from Cochise County, United StatesThis is the perfect image for this processing Marion. I must be improving??? dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesbeautifully done Marion! a beautiful shot and a marvelous choice for selective coloring! 12 Aug 2008 8:02pm @dj.tigersprout: Thank you so much for your kind words. @Earnest: I'm glad. Tracey from White Hall, United StatesI think you did really well using the process, however, I think I would have liked this one better either all in color or all in black and white. My eye has trouble traveling through the frame as it gets "stuck" on the color. Love the composition, detail, and clarity. It is a lovely picture. 12 Aug 2008 10:45pm @Tracey: Tracey, thank you for your lovely comment and I am sorry that your eye got "stuck". But the whole point of a focal B&W picture is that the majority of the picture is in B&W and there is one focal point in the original color that is supposed to draw the eye to it. Perhaps one day I will post this picture just in black and white for you. Again thanks. Namaki from Bordeaux, FranceIt is a nice composition ... I like the framing too ! 12 Aug 2008 10:55pm Barbara from Florida, United StatesI think the selective color went very well with this image. 13 Aug 2008 4:11am amy from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaI really like this Marion! It's great for your first go at it. 14 Aug 2008 4:57am e nelsonian from Pasadena, United Statesim not sure if i like the cat picture or this one better... your post processing is excellent in both 14 Aug 2008 5:59am |
