The other night while driving home at dusk we saw this beautiful sky. We were travelling at 100 km an hour/63 mph. I was in the passenger side and took this picture with my little pocket camera through the front windshield. It was too pretty to pass up although I didn't think it would turn out very good. I wish I'd had my big camera, my tripod and the ability to stop. But this turned out pretty good all things considered.
Sorry that I have been so off and on again with my visits of late. We are still having snow storms and although we still haven't lost our power, we have lost our internet connection a few times which makes visiting a little difficult.

"Pretty good?" I'd say it's fantastic, and thankfully you had a clean windshield! I always manage to get a bug 'splat' if I do that! There are so many colors in that sky, Marion ........ really lovely!!!

Considering the conditions you enumerated in the subtitle......this is a very good capture! I like the feeling of travelling into the pink glow! (WEll, no pink glow this side of the world! But at least it was dry today, not the usual sauna!)

I consider this a very nice capture. Those clouds are fantastic, and the red out there on the horizon.

The Light emenating from behind the mountain is like a gift from God, and it has to be a miracle that it turned out that well, you must be so happy, bravo Marion ;)

A cool shot Marion, and it did turn out perfectly well. Looks as though the mountain is on fire, like a volcano..! Excellent how you have used the sky to fill the frame.
What a shot, Marion. I love sunsets and sunrises... this one is a beauty.

I agree! Lovely capture. I did the same thing coming home from our beach trip a week ago. I think mine might actually have the bug splatters from the windshield in the scene! :0p

I often feel that shots we grab on the off-chance can became more precious than those we plan for weeks! That sure is a beautiful sky.

Even through the windshield this turned out great! I've not been disappointed with the sunsets here at all. Oh, and I recognize that road!! I must be getting to know this town, eh?!! Hey, did you get my phone message???

@amy: Thanks Amy. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. Yes I got your message last night when I got in from a family do and was going to call you tonight, but again by the time Ray and I got back from the other house it was late. Of course here you are still up. I am working full time this week, but will call you tomorrow night after work if that is OK!!! I am looking forward to my lessons.
