Snuggled in for the night

Taken on the 29th. Ray and I went down to the waterfront to celebrate his birthday. We had a wonderful dinner, took a few pictures and then went and saw Indiana Jones with Harrison Ford. A great evening. We parked beside a place called Muddy Waters Pub and Grill and the water was anything but muddy.

Usually splitting a picture in half is not good photographically. But I think this works very well with the sky on top and the water below and the shapes of the sail boats separating the two. Looks good!

@Steve: Thanks Steve. I know what you mean and I am sure that the purists will not like the fact that I didn't follow the rules of thirds, but I am a rebel and I loved the reflections and felt that we had to see in reality what we saw in the water. I also had just a few feet to stand in to get the picture and my little pocket camera was all I had with me. Thanks for the comment.

@Ted: No, I believe Cole Harbour is in Nova Scotia and Coal Harbour is in Vancouver, BC. This is just a small little harbour in Nanaimo, BC. Nanaimo is the "Hub City" of Vancouver Island. This little "harbour" is located at Newcastle Island passage which probably doesn't mean much to you if you don't know Vancouver Island.

@Anthony Lambert: It is Anthony. We are blessed around here with beautiful scenery and a great array of picture taking opportunities. Yours truly just hasn't been out much lately. Working full time and running between two homes (trying to get one sold and renovating the other) takes up way too much of my time. It sure is good to have you back!!

Ahhhhhhhh, a photo that warms my heart. I'll pack my gear and head for that white one with the blue sail cover in the center - give me just a minute! Marion, this is a beauty.

I've read all the comments and for me, I find it most interesting that there are so many cropping options with a photo like this. Who's to say what is right? ;D
