Lupines are one of the more common wildflowers in British Columbia. This member of the pea family is a perennial which can reach a height of over 70 cm or 6 ft.
Sorry that I have been so off and on again with my visits of late. We are still having snow storms and although we still haven't lost our power, we have lost our internet connection a few times which makes visiting a little difficult.

A beautiful composition Marion, I love the colours too :) These remind me of when I was a little girl, they used to grow wild and I would alway's pick some to take home to my Mam. I'd love to grow them in my garden, but for some reason they just won't grow!

I love these colors, Marion... but I can't imagine these flowers 6 ft. tall! A beautiful composition!

Lupines are one of my favorites! I really like the pop of the pink mixed in with the purple. I don't have any in my garden, but would like to someday. They add such beautiful height to the back of a garden!

Those deep colors are wonderful, and the way you balanced the light and dark flowers excellent. A beautiful shot...

Splendid image with those beautiful colors. Marion, I visited a cottage garden yesterday, so those photos are scheduled in a few days.

A beautiful mix of colors, Marion ... These just grow wild – hither and yon? I'm convinced you live in the most beautiful part of North America!

Yes they grow hither and yon all over the place. Usually beside the highways. This little patch was just along the highway beside one of our main grocery stores and I got my husband to pull around where we could park and I got out of the car and snapped away. They are quite beautiful. I think you are right, we do live in a beautiful part of the country. Thanks Ron.

Ahhhhh, I didn't know it was a member of the pea family, but I can see a slight resemblance now; thank you. I love their beautiful colors. We have to travel to Maine to see fields of them on the east coast and then of course into eastern Canada they're prevalent also.
Thank you, Ray, for stopping so Marion could "snap away"! ;D
