Oregon Lighthouses v

Posted by Marion (Nanaimo, BC, Canada) on 27 June 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is a very far away shot of the Heceta Head Lighthouse. We got there too late in the evening to gain access. This lighthouse, in its natural setting, is one of the most awe-inspiring to be found anywhere in the world, Commissioned in 1894, this lighthouse located north of Florence is still in service as an aid to navigation. The 56-foot tower stands 205 feet above sea level and can be seen as far as 21 miles out to sea.

I am on holidays from August 17th until August 26th ....whee!! Although I will be home for the first few days, on the 21st we are heading to the States mainly to go to Tacoma Washington to attend the Gaither Gospel Homecoming Tour on Friday the 22nd. We are in for a real treat. We will also be tourists for a while and hopefully will come back with lots of good pictures. Anyhow, all of that to say I probably won't be visiting your wonderful sites for at least the 21st - 26th, but I promise I will catch up. I will prepost.
