Wouldn't it be nice if they lasted all summer ... or is that being a bit greedy? You definitely have a purple thing going, Marion ... but purple is best appreciated in spring as it's never quite as vibrant in summer (at least that's the case in the heat and humidity of St. Louis ... may be a bit different up there in the Pacific Northwest where you have milder summers).

@Ron: Thanks Ron. It would be nice, but hydrangeas will bloom in about six weeks and then as they begin to fade the dahlias will start to bloom. All in God's timing. I imagine our summers and our weather period is much milder.
They are beautiful. It's not a common azalea color around here.
