A couple of pairs of finches. I think they were pretty happy that we had knocked the snow off their feeder. As you can see from the lower pictures they were completely covered in snow last Saturday.
I am on holidays from August 17th until August 26th ....whee!! Although I will be home for the first few days, on the 21st we are heading to the States mainly to go to Tacoma Washington to attend the Gaither Gospel Homecoming Tour on Friday the 22nd. We are in for a real treat. We will also be tourists for a while and hopefully will come back with lots of good pictures. Anyhow, all of that to say I probably won't be visiting your wonderful sites for at least the 21st - 26th, but I promise I will catch up. I will prepost.

gorgoeus shot Marion, I love the collage you've incorporated at the bottom, the snow look sso freezing and they seem to be sitting on it so effortlessly...totally oblivious to it's cold chill!

@Mandy: Thanks Mandy, the snow was completely gone from the feeders and surrounding area by later that afternoon. We sure have had crazy weather.
They are so beautiful that I can actually look at this photo of snow...great capture Marion ;)

@Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine. Thankfully it didn't stick around. We had 14 - 16 inches in the morning. Went to work just a few blocks away and it started to melt about 10 in the morning and by noon steam was rising from the concrete parking lot. Just amazing and by Sunday it was mostly gone with the exception of where the snow plows had pushed it.
very nice

Such a heart-warming shot . . lending a helping hand to Nature sure brings definite rewards. Well worth the snow-clearing!

@Ronnie 2¢: We love to sit and watch these little guys. There seems to be two couples that visit the feeders and they are very cute.
That's a heavy fall, glad to see you are feeding them. In our garden a couple of squirrels usually make for the bird feeder. Have a nice weekend...!

What fun to see the beautiful snow you had, even though I'm pleased it wasn't in our yard! <grin>

@Judy: That would have been a real weather wonder if it had been in your yard. It was gone in a day. Just amazing weather. However trees all throughout Nanaimo and area have been destroyed by the heavy snowfall. I should really try to get out and get some pictures of them. Some look like someone took a huge axe and just split the tree from above. The majority of trees affected where blossom trees. Mother Nature doing her pruning I guess.
they do look happy! great!

A beautiful spring snowfall ... I hope it's all gone. I love the little birds with the red blush ... I can almost hear them singing. A beautiful collage, Marion!

@Ron: Thanks Ron, it was almost gone 24 hours later with the exception of where the snow plows pushed the snow ... we had over 14 inches in our yard.
