On a ride in the country one day we came across an old vehicle just left to disintegrate in the dirt. Made for a wonderful picture. This is the oil painting effect.
I am on holidays from August 17th until August 26th ....whee!! Although I will be home for the first few days, on the 21st we are heading to the States mainly to go to Tacoma Washington to attend the Gaither Gospel Homecoming Tour on Friday the 22nd. We are in for a real treat. We will also be tourists for a while and hopefully will come back with lots of good pictures. Anyhow, all of that to say I probably won't be visiting your wonderful sites for at least the 21st - 26th, but I promise I will catch up. I will prepost.
nice shot. the effect is so beautiful

Marion, it looks as though you went out into the country with your easel, paints and palette knife!!! This truly is an exquisite 'painting' ........ xx

LOVE the look of this one totally!! Excellent!! Oh, and I'm not sick... I think someone misunderstood the "heartsick" over my pics. All's good health wise... just wish things weren't so unsettled with the "conditional" sale of our house. How come you're selling?

@amy: Thanks Amy. Just downsizing to a smaller place. Well I am glad you are not sick. We put in an offer for a sweet little doll house with a subject to the sale of our place and it fell through the next day because someone came along with the ready cash. I guess it was just not meant to be.
You were correct. This is right up my alley. I wish this was in my neighborhood. You did a wonderful job on it.

Love this shot with the "oil" treatment. Very subtle and painterly in its feel. Just a beautiful statement of life (in the green foliage) and cast off life (in the old truck) and how the two just sort of meld together…sometimes. A very lovely composition, Marion. I like it, and think it deserves a frame!

Thank you so much for the wonderful pics Made my miserable recuperation from pneumonia more pleasant....I can smell the salty air when I look at beach and water shots...I can't think of a better reaction. Becky
