The last of the poppies. All that stands now are the stalks and the pods. The rain, time and the wind has blown away the blossoms and the pods stand like solitary sentinels.
I am on holidays from August 17th until August 26th ....whee!! Although I will be home for the first few days, on the 21st we are heading to the States mainly to go to Tacoma Washington to attend the Gaither Gospel Homecoming Tour on Friday the 22nd. We are in for a real treat. We will also be tourists for a while and hopefully will come back with lots of good pictures. Anyhow, all of that to say I probably won't be visiting your wonderful sites for at least the 21st - 26th, but I promise I will catch up. I will prepost.
Poppies are a fascinating plant and you've caught a wonderful shot here.

@Michael Skorulski: Thank you Michael. I can't wait until it is time for the poppies to bloom again. This year I will try to get even better shots. Your comments are always appreciated.
Fantastic again! They look like miniature lamps ~ maybe for a doll house! :D

@Judy: Thanks Judy. That is the last of my poppy pictures. Now I am going to have to think really hard (can you see the smoke coming out of my ears?) to come up with another theme. Have a wonderful day. I am off to work.
Yeah. I like this. Very much! Great symmetry with the pods and that mid-range dof gives a great depth.
