We have a refuse pile in our park where the owners bring their garden refuse and throw it in a heap and last year we had a beautiful poppy garden. This is a close up of one of the wild poppies.
I am on holidays from August 17th until August 26th ....whee!! Although I will be home for the first few days, on the 21st we are heading to the States mainly to go to Tacoma Washington to attend the Gaither Gospel Homecoming Tour on Friday the 22nd. We are in for a real treat. We will also be tourists for a while and hopefully will come back with lots of good pictures. Anyhow, all of that to say I probably won't be visiting your wonderful sites for at least the 21st - 26th, but I promise I will catch up. I will prepost.
The soft edges to the petals is GORGEOUS!! The centre is in perfect focus with that little bit of pollen... FABulous, Marion!!

Another beautiful poppy photo ......... these are truly lovely, Marion. Do they call wild poppies in the refuse pile volunteers, as the stray tomato plant might be called? :D
